Pundits plump for W shaped recession

Almost a year after the event it has been revealed that both RBS and HBOS received a secret £62bn emergency financing during the banking crisis of October 2008. Indeed, at the time the secret was kept so well that the only way of telling that something serious was going on was to look at the share prices of the respective banks. The implication is that only the Treasury, the banks themselves and whoever was selling their stock at the time knew what was going on.
